Durring my usual Cl browsing I foudn this. a 62 Falcon Futura with a 302, and 4 on the floor manual trans
overall it isn’t a“car show worthy” gem. but a nice daily driver and for 10k I thin its priced at a good start to negotiate from. I really like the color, and the side trim, pair with the simple smooth hubcaps.

I prefer hardtops to sedans, but that’s nitpicking. Very nice, and NP, too.

Haha! The Futura name continued on with the Australian Falcon until 2008. Weird seeing such a word on an American car

I think the last thing to get the Futura name in the US was the 19 77 -81 Fairmont Futura. which got a unique coupe roof line, and slanted taillights.
the Futura
vs the standard Fairmont
basically the regular one was f or your dad, and the Futura was for your cool uncle who never has kids.

hard tops are cooler. unfortunately that is reflected in asking prices https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/ctd/d/sherman-1963-ford-falcon-futura-v8-4/6780975661.html
this restoration seems higher quality, but I think the fact that its twice the price has just as much to do with being a pillar-less coupe.

Yeah, I doubt the underside of the red car looks as nice as the black one, but part of that price is the body style for sure.
I like the colors of the red one better ( those seats!!!) And if it was my money I would buy the red car and be very happy.
Plus serious hot rodders want th e car that is lighter and stiffer- the red one.

yeah the all too common blaaaaaack and red is turn off for me. I haven’t like that look since 5th grade when i realized that almost all of my friend’s favorite colors were black and red.
I like cars: Jim Spanfeller is one ugly motherfucker

I don’t hate black cars, but it’s a bit overdone. I like the black one - just not twice as much as the red one. I find it odd that the black car was originally Rangoon Red - that’s a nice color, and I’d like that hardtop better if it was still that color!
